What is shuffleboard
Shuffleboard is a table or floor game that requires cues in players hand to push the pucks or weighted discs. The main objective here is to push the pucks with the help of cues towards the opposite part of the table or floor. And you have to do so by keeping the pucks within the scoring marked area for scoring points. You can also check out the indoor and outdoor shuffleboard table review.
Shuffleboard table dimensions
When we are talking about the dimension of shuffleboard, we have to categorize it into two sections. One is for shuffleboard table and the other one is for shuffleboard court. Now let's discuss the dimension of these two categories in detail.
Shuffleboard table dimension
In case of shuffleboard tables, the size mainly differs because of the length. Commonly shuffleboard tables are designed with a width of 20 inches and the tables are set at 30 inches high from the ground. But the length of the board varies a lot and that’s why I would like to make a category of shuffleboard tables according to the length.
Small size tables
Small size shuffleboard tables measure from 8 feet to 12 feet in length. If you are looking for tables for only recreational purposes and need one, which is budget worthy, I would suggest you go for a table that measures within this range. These tables are perfect for the home area or small spaces. These budget-friendly tables are mainly made of composite materials. Most of these tables don’t require assembly, so you can start playing easily without much delay.
Midsize table measures from 14 feet to 16 feet. Are you bored of playing on small tables and don't have enough space to set up a full-length table? Here come midsize shuffleboard tables to provide you with a feeling like playing in a full-length table and not requiring that much space for setup.
The table is longer in size than small tables, so it weighs a bit more of course. Though it doesn't require much space but still need space more than small size tables. These tables also require some assembly before starting the game. So if you are quite serious about shuffleboard gaming, then my suggestion is to go with a mid-size table.
Large size or full-length tables
Full-length tables measure from 18 feet to 22 feet. This type of large size tables is perfect for experienced players or professionals. If you are interested in having a professional-grade feel then go for a full-length table. 22 feet long table is the regulation length of shuffleboard tables. Full-length tables are typically made of high-quality wood and they are precision crafted. These boards come with a lot of features. Full-length tables are heavier than other types of tables and takes more time for assembling.

Small size tables are the lightweight tables of all other shuffleboard tables. 8 feet and 9 inches feet weigh around 250 to 350 pounds. Meanwhile 12 feet table weighs up to 400 pounds approximately.
Weight of medium size tables
These tables are bit heavier than small size tables of course. 14 feet table weighs around 450 to 600 pounds, depending on the manufacturer and the materials. And 16 feet table weighs more than 600 pounds up to 700 pounds approximately.
Weight of large size tables
If you are going for a large size table, remember it is the heavier one to deal with. 18 feet table weighs around 700 to 800 pounds. Then immediate length before regulation length is 20 feet and this table weighs around 800 to 950. Meanwhile regulation size table weighs more than 1000 pounds.
Shuffleboard court dimension
Shuffleboard court is typically used when you are playing shuffleboard in the outdoor area. An official shuffleboard court measures 39 feet long and 6 feet wide. There are also some additional areas that make the measurement of the court in combined. At each end of the court, there is an extra shooting area of 6 feet included. Just in front of the shooting zone, there is a triangle scoring system, which measures 6 feet by 9 feet.
Depending on indoor, outdoor condition there are two types of shuffleboards.
- Floor shuffleboard: This is an outdoor shuffleboard that requires a large size court to play the game. The court measures 39 feet in length and 6 feet in width. The game requires pucks, sticks to score points.
- Table shuffleboard: This is an indoor shuffleboard game, which mainly requires a table. There are different sizes of tables as I have already mentioned above. The game requires cues and pucks to score points.
There are some other types of shuffleboards, which are worth mentioning.
- Bumper shuffleboards: This is also known as cushion shuffleboard. These shuffleboards are typically smaller than regular shuffleboards.
- Sjoelen shuffleboards:This smaller size shuffleboard is mainly used in Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. The difference between this board and regular boards is that, it uses wooden discs instead of pucks.
- Shove Ha’penny:This type is very popular in England. Players use their heel of the hand to push the pucks and score points.
Final words: Well, known a lot of information, right? So why are you making delay? Have shuffleboard and start having fun with your family and friends, whether indoor or outdoor, wherever you like.
